Parenting Workshops

The Family Compass is offering a series of workshops with some great topics such as Bedtime rituals/sleep issues, anxiety and fears, as well as other topics including potty training.  In addition, The Cerebral Palsy Support Group will meet on April 15th.  They will have a guest speaker, a round robin session for sharing information, and a questions session.  This month’s guest speaker will be Gary Logue, ADA Coordinator for the Fairfax County Park Authority.  See below for additional details for any of these opportunities.

Cerebral Palsy Support Group

On April 15, 2015, the Cerebral Palsy Support Group will be meeting for the first time at Crossfield Elementary at 2791 Fox Mill Road, Herndon, VA 20171.  The meeting structure will include a guest speaker, a round robin session for sharing our thoughts and a questions section.  Our guest speaker for April 15, 2015 will be Gary Logue, ADA Coordinator for Fairfax County Park Authority.  As we prepare for summer camps, Gary will have useful information on how the the Park Authority can support our very special children.  Please share this announcement with people who you think will benefit from attending the support group.  It is important to sign-up for the meeting by visiting our website at www.CerebralPalsySupportGroup.org and accessing the meetings page.

Dr. Rene Hackney is a leading parenting and child development specialist, and the founder of Parenting Playgroups.

 

Mr. Joshua Metz, LCSW is a family therapist and Director of Together for Success, an early intervention program for families of toddlers and preschoolers with autism spectrum and related disorders.

  

Dr. Moshe Shtuh is the founder and director of Family Compass since 1996. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Clinical Psychology at George Washington University doctoral program.
