Katydid offers camps for both preschool and elementary aged children from June through late August. See below for more information including schedule and registration link for each camp.
PRESCHOOL CAMPS (3-6 years):
Catch Some Fun & Sun! Increase curiosity about nature with fun crafts, games, hikes, songs and stories. August sessions include a carousel and boat ride. Children must be potty trained. Bring snacks, lunch, drinks and dress in play clothes. Curriculum repeats every four weeks. Click here to register online through Parktakes.

Art in Nature (Ages 3 – 5, 9am-1pm, Fee $179) - Explore art in its natural setting & build miniature animal homes with craft & natural materials including clay animals, dioramas, murals, sun prints & more. Children will hike & explore the park with games & songs as part of the fun. Activity fee of $5 due on the first day. Offered at Burke Lake and Lake Fairfax Parks.
Burke Lake weeks: 6/09, 6/16, 7/07 and 7/14.
Lake Fairfax Park weeks: 6/23 and 7/7
Fun with Dr. Seuss (Ages 3-5 9am – 1pm, Fee $179) – Children will be introduced to a variety of Dr. Seuss books while playing games and acting out story lines incorporating rhymes. The fun includes arts and crafts, puppetry, acting, hiking and singing which help youngsters dive into reading and early theater. An activity fee of $5 is due on the first day.Offered at Burke Lake and Lake Fairfax Parks.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAMPS (6-10 years):
Catch Some Fun & Sun! Discover the great outdoors! Outdoor fun with nature through hikes, crafts, games, relays, songs, stories, exploration and more. Observe insects, go fishing and get to know the trails of the park. Campers go on daily trips to the Watermine & one boat ride tour ($50 activity fee is due on first day – season passes are accepted in lieu of fee). Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks, bathing suit & towel daily. (Children must have completed Kindergarten).

An activity fee of $50 for a daily trip to the Water-mine is due on the first day-weather permitting (season passes are accepted in lieu of fee). Bring snack, lunch, water bottle & swimsuit/towel daily. Offered at Lake Fairfax Park.
